Won't somebody just forget about the children for a moment?

What is wrong with the parents of today?

I must start off by saying not all parents are crazy (DeeDub, Mookie... I'm looking at you two), but with people out there trying to get t-shirts banned and removed from sale over slogans on it are just insane.

This is what I am talking about.

People who feel the need to make the world so safe and take away all the fun from the world so they can sleep at night knowing that they have done their part to make the world a better place. I mean, these are slogans on children's T-Shirts. They are humorous. They make people laugh, and the kids wearing them will have no idea what they say, and by the time they can read them, they will have outgrown the t-shirts by about... four years. And they wont be in their teens till they understand the meanings of what they were wearing, and by then, they will find it funny themselves and probably be wanting to show the photos off to their friends proving they were cool from day one.

Why do these kind of people feel the need to ruin everyone's fun. Would it not be easier to, I don't know, NOT buy the t-shirt if you don't like it? I mean, fuck, I would not go out and buy a piece of clothing I didn't like, so why is this any different? Does your child really need to be protected from some words printed on some fabric? Sure, I don't have any children of my own, but I hope that if I ever am that lucky, I sure hope I have enough common sense to be a decent parent, and not an overprotective, ignorant twat.

And its not just these t-shirt haters I am talking about.

Parents who want to nanny their kids, stop them from being kids. The ones that wont let them play football on the weekends because its too rough, or play in the sandpit as there could be a needle in there. Or swim at public pools because someone else's little kid might of used it as a bathroom.

The world isn't a perfect place, and kids sometimes need a little of the bad to help them grow up good, and by treating them the way you do, they will miss out on some of the most fun and exciting bits of their life, and miss out on learning lessons they will never forget. How do you think I learnt that you should not play with bees? It wasn't by my parents keeping me inside and away from them....

These parents may as well put your child in a giant bubble and not let them out of your sight.
